Additional information

The Nike 5 Złotych was designed by Jan Wysocki and adopted as part of Poland's interwar currency modernization under the Second Republic. Trial strikes in copper — as opposed to the issued silver — were produced as part of the approval process at the Paris Mint (Monnaie de Paris), which struck the circulating version. Copper trials of this type were never intended for release and survived almost exclusively in official or institutional holdings.

Fewer than a handful of copper examples are documented in major auction records.
