Additional information

The 1959 Fisherman 5 Złotych was part of a broader effort by the Polish National Bank and the Mennica Państwowa to rationalize coinage following the 1950 currency reform, which had slashed the złoty's value at a ratio of 100 to 1. Trial strikes in brass from this period were produced in very small numbers for internal evaluation — the production metal was still being debated, and multiple compositional variants exist across the Fischer and ParM reference systems. This particular brass trial never advanced to circulation issue.
