Obverse description Round cast copper coin with a central square hole. Two Chinese characters flank the square hole, reading 'Wu Zhu' (五朱, 5 Zhu), with one character positioned to the left and one to the right of the aperture. The characters are rendered in relief within a plain, unbordered field. The style reflects the influence of Chinese Han-dynasty cash coinage adapted by the Kuchean kingdom. The coin surface displays a patinated, granular texture consistent with ancient cast bronze.
