| Beschrijving voorzijde | Plain flat field bearing the two-character inscription 五銖 (Wu Zhu) arranged vertically on either side of the central square hole, cast in relief in standard Han clerical script. The character 五 appears to the right of the hole and 銖 to the left, both rendered in the characteristically abbreviated, attenuated strokes that define the 'goose eye' (鵝眼錢) variety. The rim is a narrow, slightly raised border with no inner rim line on this side. The overall module is notably small and thin, consistent with the debased late Western Han issues attributed to the reign of Emperor Xuan through Emperor Cheng. |
