Obverse description Flat, largely uninscribed obverse field surrounding a central square perforation, characteristic of the late Eastern Han 'chiselled rim' Wu Zhu type. The inscription 五銖 (wu zhu, 'five zhu') appears to have been deliberately filed or chiselled away on this face, leaving only faint traces in the field. A raised square rim borders the central hole, and a plain outer rim defines the coin's circular perimeter. The bronze surface displays a natural reddish-brown patina with traces of green cuprite oxidation. The minimalist design reflects the debased coinage practices of the late Han period.

Reverse description Plain reverse field encircling the central square perforation, devoid of inscription, consistent with the 'chiselled rim' variant in which legends were removed by filing on one or both faces. A well-defined raised square rim surrounds the central hole, set within a smooth, flat field bounded by a plain circular outer rim. The surface exhibits a warm reddish-brown patina typical of cast Eastern Han bronze coinage, with localised areas of green patination. The absence of reverse lettering is a diagnostic feature of this Hartill 10.28 subtype, distinguishing it from standard Wu Zhu issues of the period.
