The dragon is depicted with a golden-yellow body adorned with scale detailing, a joyful expression with large round eyes, flowing orange and red mane, and a multicolored peacock-feather tail in hues of blue, pink, and green, evoking the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year. A delicate background of pale grey cloud scrolls and lotus petal motifs frames the colorful central figure. The denomination 5元 appears in the lower left field in Chinese characters, and a small square seal cartouche bearing the characters 中国 is positioned to the right. The Heavenly Stems–Earthly Branches cyclical year designation 甲辰, corresponding to the Year of the Dragon, is incorporated into the design. |
