背面描述	A three-quarter figure of Sima Qian, the celebrated Han dynasty historian and author of the Shiji (Records of the Grand Historian), is depicted seated at a low writing table covered with bamboo slips, rendered in finely detailed high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. To his left stands an ornate ceremonial vessel, and to his right a tall multi-tiered oil lamp candlestick illuminates the scene. The name 司馬遷 (Sima Qian) is inscribed in Chinese characters to the upper left, while a curved legend along the upper border reads 約公元前145－前87年 (approximately 145–87 BC), denoting his life dates. The denomination 5元 appears in large characters at the lower center of the field.
