| Obverse description | The national emblem of the People's Republic of China occupies the central field, depicting Tiananmen Gate surmounted by five stars and encircled by a wreath of grain stalks bound at the base by a cogwheel. Flanking the emblem in the lower field are reliefs of traditional Peking Opera musical instruments: a stringed instrument group with a pipa and erhu to the left, and a drum with cymbals to the right, evoking the theatrical art form celebrated by the series. The circular legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters, with the date 2024 inscribed at the base of the field. |
