Obverse description The obverse features a finely detailed rendering of the Temple of Heaven (Tiantan) in Beijing, depicted in three-quarter perspective within a raised inner circle. The architectural composition shows the characteristic triple-tiered circular hall with its conical roof and surrounding marble terrace rendered with precise incuse line work. The Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery between the inner circle and the milled rim. The date 2000 is inscribed in Arabic numerals along the lower periphery, also between the inner circle and the rim.
