Additional information

Part of China's ongoing geographic series celebrating major national landmarks, the Mount Huangshan 5 Yuan coin was issued under the People's Bank of China's expanded circulation commemorative program that began producing bimetallic and brass pieces for general use rather than collector sets. Huangshan — the Yellow Mountain range in Anhui province — has appeared on Chinese currency before, most notably on the third series Renminbi banknotes, giving it an unusual doubled presence in the country's monetary iconography.
