备注

Kinmen (Quemoy) notes were a parallel military-civil currency system maintained by the Republic of China government specifically for the offshore island garrisons. The Bank of Taiwan issued distinct Kinmen series to prevent currency from circulating freely between the islands and Taiwan proper — a monetary firewall rooted in the very real possibility that Kinmen could fall to the PRC, as it nearly did during the 1958 Artillery Crisis when mainland forces fired an estimated 470,000 shells at the island over 44 days.

By 1966 the siege had long ended but the administrative separation remained. These notes were not legal tender on mainland Taiwan.
