Aanvullende informatie

The ivory cup referenced here is almost certainly one of the lacquered or carved ceremonial vessels from China's ancient bronzeware and lacquerware tradition — objects that appear repeatedly in archaeological contexts from the Shang and Zhou dynasties onward. China's ongoing "Cultural Relics" bullion series uses these issues partly as soft diplomacy, asserting custodianship of a material culture that remains contested between mainland institutions and diaspora collections held in Taiwan and abroad.
