| 备注 |
The Bank of China was established in February 1912 as a successor to the Qing dynasty's Ta-Ching Government Bank, rechartered under the new Republican government almost immediately after the dynasty's collapse. This note belongs to the earliest phase of that transition — printed by the American Bank Note Company before the bank had fully consolidated its position as the Republic's primary foreign exchange institution.
ABNC produced multiple denomination types for the Bank of China in this period, with place-of-payment overprints applied to distinguish notes intended for different branch cities. Collectors should confirm which branch overprint, if any, appears on individual examples, as this substantially affects scarcity.
