| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a finely detailed high-relief portrait of Cai Wenji (蔡文姬), the celebrated Han dynasty poetess and musician, shown seated in three-quarter view and playing a guqin (ancient Chinese zither) positioned before her. She is rendered in traditional Han robes with an elaborate coiffure, her figure occupying the right-center field. To the left stands a multi-tiered oil lamp on a tall stand, and an excerpt from her lament poetry is inscribed in vertical Chinese characters in the central field. The inscription 姬文蔡 (Cai Wenji) appears across the upper field, flanked by her approximate life dates 约公元177–254年 on the right. The denomination 5元 is inscribed at the lower right of the field. |
