| Obverse description | Printed in dark blue-black on a light blue guilloche underprint, the face is dominated by a large cursive letter 'B' as a central underprint element within an oval guilloche field, flanked on all four corners by engraved scroll-and-bird vignettes. Denomination numerals '5' appear in blue at each corner, with kanji characters '五圓' (Five Yen) at left and right center, and the English legend 'FIVE YEN' in bold blue lettering across the lower center. The title 'MILITARY CURRENCY' is inscribed in the top panel, with 'SERIES 100' and series letter 'B' indicated in the upper field, and the kanji '軍票' (military scrip) in a cartouche at the bottom center. |
