| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black and red on pale paper, with Chinese and Korean script throughout. At upper centre, the bank title 韓國銀行券 (Bank of Korea Note) appears within a decorative border, flanked by the numeral 5 at each corner. A large central vignette contains the denomination character 五圓 within an ornate floral guilloche medallion. To the right, an oval intaglio vignette presents Namdaemun Gate (Sungnyemun) in Seoul with a mountain backdrop.
