Obverse description The obverse is printed in black and red on pale paper, with Chinese and Korean script throughout. At upper centre, the bank title 韓國銀行券 (Bank of Korea Note) appears within a decorative border, flanked by the numeral 5 at each corner. A large central vignette contains the denomination character 五圓 within an ornate floral guilloche medallion. To the right, an oval intaglio vignette presents Namdaemun Gate (Sungnyemun) in Seoul with a mountain backdrop. The left side bears a blank oval reserve, with vertical columns of Chinese text detailing the note's legal authority and issuance conditions.
