Reverse description The reverse presents a bare-headed, draped bust of Simón Bolívar in left-facing profile, rendered with finely detailed hair swept back from the forehead in the neoclassical manner characteristic of Désiré-Albert Barre's engraving style. The legend BOLÍVAR arches along the left periphery and LIBERTADOR along the right, both reading upward from the base. Below the truncation, the engraver's name BARRE appears as a signature, with ESSAI inscribed to the left of the bust, identifying this piece as a pattern or trial striking. The entire design is enclosed within a pronounced beaded border.
