Obverse description The obverse displays the Venezuelan national coat of arms at center, featuring three quartered sections: a wheat sheaf, crossed swords and flags, and a galloping horse, surmounted by a cornucopia of tropical fruits and flanked by an olive branch to the left and a palm frond to the right. Two ribbons beneath the shield bear the inscriptions INDEPEND. 5 DE JULIO 1811 and LIBERTAD 28 DE MARZO 1864, with a lower scroll reading DIOS Y FED.ON. The peripheral legend reads •ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA• arching across the upper field, while the lower field carries the weight, date, and fineness specifications: GR•8.0645•1875•LEI 900. The design is framed by a bold beaded border.
