Aanvullende informatie

Mohammad Ali Shah's reign lasted barely two years before he was deposed in July 1909 by constitutionalist forces during the Persian Constitutional Revolution. This 1908 issue was struck in the final months before his government lost control of the capital; he had already ordered the bombardment of the Majles building in June 1908, suspending the constitution and triggering the armed uprising that would end his rule. Coins bearing his name were pulled from active monetary policy almost immediately upon his exile to Russia.
