Reverse description The reverse displays the imperial emblem of Qajar Iran: a lion passant to the right, holding an upright sword in its right forepaw, set against a radiant rising sun whose rays fan dramatically across the upper field. The lion and sun device rests upon a decorative platform supported by scrollwork. The central motif is enclosed within a wreath of olive branches to the left and oak branches to the right, bound by a ribbon bow at the base, with additional foliate sprigs at the top. A beaded border runs along the entire circumference.
