Informazioni aggiuntive	Slovenia issued this piece in 1996 to mark the centennial of the modern Olympic Games, coinciding with the Atlanta Summer Olympics — the first Games Slovenia participated in as an independent nation, having declared independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. The country sent 59 athletes to Atlanta and returned with no medals, but the symbolic weight of competing under its own flag for the first time was considerable. The nickel brass alloy was Slovenia's workhorse composition for circulating commemoratives throughout the mid-1990s tolar series.
