Below the square hole, an elaborate stylized lotus blossom in relief fills the lower field. The legend 萬世永賴 (Vạn Thế Vĩnh Lại, meaning 'eternal reliance for ten thousand generations') occupies the left column of the coin's field. The entire design is rendered in the bold, deeply cast Sino-Vietnamese calligraphic style characteristic of Nguyễn dynasty coinage. |
