| Obverse description | Central device consists of a stylized flaming pearl rendered in high relief, surrounded by radiating flame elements in the Vietnamese imperial tradition. Four large Chinese characters are disposed in cruciform arrangement around the central motif, reading 保大寳鑑 (Bao Dai Bao Chien) in the four cardinal positions. The entire design is contained within a beaded border encircling the field. Two small holes are pierced through the flan at the top and bottom, consistent with the piece's use as a charm or fantasy issue rather than circulating coinage. |
