| Obverse description | This half-circle flan forms one half of a two-part commemorative issue, designed to be combined with the companion Kiribati KM#25 piece to create a complete round coin. The obverse displays the Samoan national coat of arms at centre, surrounded by horizontal wave-pattern lines filling the field. The date range '1997 • 2000' is inscribed along the straight diameter edge at top, while the legend 'SAMOA' and the denomination '$5' appear along the curved edge at bottom. The overall design is executed in proof finish, giving the fields a deeply mirrored appearance. |
