| Obverse description | The obverse features a deeply sculpted, dome-shaped filigree field composed of intricate high-relief scenes depicting Revolutionary War soldiers, cavalry, cannons, muskets, crossed rifles, and floral motifs, with the gold-plated underside visible through the openwork design. At the centre sits a raised circular medallion bearing the Samoan coat of arms — a shield charged with the Southern Cross and a globe, surmounted by a cross, and encircled by a wreath — all rendered in antique finish. The legend SAMOA 2026 arcs above the central medallion, flanked by the specifications 2 OZ and AG 999 to either side. Below the coat of arms, a ribbon cartouche bears the national motto FA'AVAE I LE ATUA SAMOA, with the denomination $5 inscribed beneath. |
