Additional information

Momotaro — the boy born from a peach who defeats a band of demons — is among the oldest and most widely retold stories in Japanese folklore, with written versions traceable to the Muromachi period and mass print versions spreading through Edo-era woodblock publishing. Samoa has become one of the more prolific issuers of Japanese-themed collector coinage partly because Pacific island mints operate under fewer design licensing constraints than Japanese domestic mints, which remain conservative in their commemorative programs.

The .9999 fineness here is a notch above the .999 used on most bullion-adjacent issues in this format.
