Bangladesh introduced a new bimetallic 5 Taka coin in 1996, and copper trial strikes of this denomination were produced as part of the pre-production approval process — submitted to the issuing authority to confirm dimensions and die alignment before the working composition was finalised. These pieces were never intended for release and exist in extremely small numbers.
