Obverse description Brown and salmon tones dominate the obverse, with the Bangladesh Bank name inscribed in Bengali across the top in a guilloche-framed header. To the right, an intaglio vignette of an ornate historic gateway is rendered in fine line engraving, while the centre-left area carries a lotus flower underprint in pastel tones with a blank oval reserve where the portrait would appear on the issued note. The denomination "পাঁচ টাকা" (Five Taka) appears in large Bengali script at centre, with issuing authority and promise-to-pay text above and below.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in olive-brown and green tones, centred on an intaglio vignette of an industrial riverfront complex — likely a jute mill — with boats on the river in the foreground and factory buildings extending across the middle ground. A blank oval reserve occupies the right portion of the note in place of a secondary vignette. "BANGLADESH BANK" is lettered in English across the top, with "FIVE TAKA" at lower right and the year date at lower centre.
