5 Somoni Constitution

Issued to mark the tenth anniversary of Tajikistan's 1994 constitution, adopted just two years into a civil war that would kill an estimated 50,000 people and displace over a million before a peace accord was finally signed in 1997. The constitution itself was passed under conditions of armed conflict, with large portions of the country outside government control at the time of the referendum.
