| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts two equestrians in full gallop engaged in the traditional Kyrgyz horseback game Kyz Kuumay ('Girl chasing'), in which a male rider attempts to catch and kiss a female rider while she evades him. The male rider on the left reaches forward toward the female rider on the right, both horses rendered in vigorous motion against a geometric patterned background evoking a mountainous landscape. The Cyrillic inscription КЫЗ КУУМАЙ arcs along the upper margin of the field. The denomination 5 and the monetary unit СОМ are inscribed in large characters at the lower centre of the field. |

Kyz Kuumay — "catch the girl" — is a traditional Central Asian equestrian game in which a male rider chases a female rider; if he fails to catch her before a finish line, she is entitled to chase and whip him on the return. The Kyrgyz Republic has issued several collector coins celebrating nomadic cultural heritage, and this copper-nickel five som belongs to that series. The game remains practiced at festivals and was recognized by UNESCO on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2017 — two years after this coin's issue date.
