Reverse description Two scepters topped with fleurs-de-lis crossed in saltire at the center of the field, with a fleur-de-lis in each of the four angles formed by the crossed scepters. A royal crown surmounts the crossing point of the scepters, serving as the central design element of the Bearn insignia. The whole composition is rendered in a bold, symmetrical style typical of Louis XIV coinage. The circular Latin legend .DOMINE. SALVM. FAC. REGEM. (O Lord, save the King) runs around the periphery of the coin.
