| Obverse description | Dark brown on multicolour guilloche underprint. A central oval vignette contains an intaglio portrait of a female allegorical figure representing Liberty, shown in three-quarter profile with a laurel wreath crown. The denomination 1/2 appears in large numerals at left and right within elaborate scroll-work borders, with the bank title arched across the top and the date and series notation at lower left.
