The engraver's initials CLS appear in the right field near the animal's haunches. The bilingual legend SOUTH AFRICA and SUID-AFRIKA flanks the date at the upper periphery, separated by raised dots, while the denomination 5 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower arc, all enclosed within a finely denticulated border. |
