Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Charles IV (Carolus IIII) of Spain facing right, struck on a Spanish colonial 8 Reales host coin with a large central circular hole punched through the field. The circumferential legend reads CAROLUS·IIII·DEI·GRATIA with the date 1800 positioned at the base. The portrait is rendered in the neoclassical style typical of late 18th-century Spanish colonial coinage, with fine denticulation visible along the outer rim.
