| Additional information |
North Sentinel Island falls under the administrative jurisdiction of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands territory, but the Indian government has maintained a strict exclusion zone around it since 2018 — effectively codifying into law what had always been a practical reality. The Sentinelese have resisted contact for millennia. India issues no currency for the island, collects no taxes, and exercises sovereignty in name only.
This piece is a fantasy or novelty issue. No recognized monetary authority has ever established a shell-denominated currency for North Sentinel, and no issuing infrastructure exists there.
