| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan of irregular rectangular form bearing a multi-line Persian legend in bold nasta'liq script across the field, reading 'Banda-yi Shah-i Wilayat Husayn, Zarb Iravan 1125.' The inscription identifies the issuing ruler Sultan Husayn as 'servant of the King of Sanctity' and records the mint city of Yerevan (Iravan) together with the AH regnal year 1125. The script is deeply impressed into the planchet, with characteristic Safavid calligraphic flourishes filling the available surface. |
