| Reverse description | Irregular oval flan bearing the Shi'a Islamic declaration of faith and the names of the Twelve Imams, rendered in bold Persian nastaliq calligraphy arranged in multiple horizontal registers across the field. The central legend opens with the Shahada 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah, Ali wali Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God, Ali is the Friend of God), followed by the names of the Twelve Imams: Ali, Hasan, Husayn, Ali, Muhammad, Jafar, Musa, Ali, Muhammad, Ali, Hasan, and Muhammad. A dotted or hatched border frames the flan periphery. The deeply struck, high-relief lettering is typical of Safavid hammered silver coinage, with the religious text serving as the principal decorative and doctrinal element. |
