| Obverse description | Left-facing draped bust of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, second Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan, wearing the traditional ornate crowned helmet adorned with scrollwork and a bird finial. A circular Tibetan legend surrounds the effigy, running along both sides of the field. The dates of his reign, '1926-1952', appear in the lower exergue in Latin numerals, commemorating the period of his father Jigme Wangchuck's rule. |
