附加信息

Brunei's 1967 coinage series marked the first decimal issues under the Currency Agreement with Singapore and Malaysia — the three territories briefly sharing a common currency framework before Brunei opted to maintain its own dollar at par rather than fully integrate. This 5 sen piece was struck at the Royal Mint in London, as Brunei had no domestic minting capacity of its own.

Omar Ali Saifuddin III had abdicated the sultanate just months before this coin entered circulation, in October 1967, handing power to his son Hassanal Bolkiah — making this one of the last issues to bear his effigy before the series transitioned.
