The lion wears a small crown and displays a flowing mane rendered in detailed relief. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded border: MONETA*NOVA*THVRICENSIS. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse field displays the civic motto PRO DEO ET PATRIA (For God and Fatherland) arranged in three lines across the centre, surrounded by elaborate baroque foliate and scrollwork ornamentation that fills the field. The date 1700 appears in large numerals at the base of the design, below the motto. The whole composition is enclosed within a beaded border, giving the piece a distinctly late-17th-century Swiss baroque character. |
