Obverse description Intaglio portrait vignette at left centre depicts a young man holding a drafting compass, rendered in fine line engraving against a light guilloche underprint in green tones. To the right, the denomination "Fünf Schilling" appears in large Gothic script alongside a bold numeral "5" within a scalloped cartouche. The issuer name, date of issue, and three facsimile signatures with their respective titles are printed in the centre field, with the text "Ausgabe 1951" running vertically along the left margin.

Reverse description Central vignette presents an intaglio landscape view of the terraced open-pit iron ore mine at Erzberg, near Eisenerz in Styria, enclosed within a rectangular frame flanked by crossed mining-hammer emblems. A large numeral "5" within a scalloped cartouche occupies the upper right, while an oval guilloche panel appears below it. The lower portion carries the denomination in Gothic script above the counterfeiting warning legend, all set against a fine guilloche underprint.
