Opmerkingen

The Residency of Djambi was one of several Indonesian regional administrations that issued emergency currency during the Dutch military actions of 1947–1948. With central supply lines disrupted and Dutch forces attempting to reassert control over Sumatra, local residencies printed their own notes to keep basic commerce functioning — these are sometimes called "NICA-period emergency issues" from the Indonesian side, distinguishing them from Dutch-administered NICA currency circulating in occupied zones.

Locally printed on whatever stock was available, these Sumatran residency notes suffered badly from humidity and handling. Survivors in any usable condition are genuinely uncommon.
