| Obverse description | The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, is depicted centrally, showing three lions passant on an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra (wheel). Immediately below the capital, the national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') appears in Devanagari script. The denomination '₹ 5' is inscribed in the lower field. The legend 'भारत' in Devanagari arcs along the left periphery and 'INDIA' in Latin script arcs along the right periphery. |
