Obverse description The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, occupies the central field, depicted in three-quarter view with three lions visible atop an abacus featuring a Dharma Chakra flanked by a bull and a horse in relief. Immediately below the capital, the national motto 'Satyameva Jayate' (Truth Alone Triumphs) is inscribed in Devanagari script. The country name appears as 'भारत' in Devanagari along the left arc and 'INDIA' in Latin script along the right arc. The denomination '₹ 5' in large numerals with the Indian Rupee symbol is prominently displayed in the lower field.
