Obverse description The obverse features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, depicted in high relief at the centre, with four Asiatic lions back-to-back surmounting the Abacus adorned with a Dharma Chakra flanked by a bull and a horse in the frieze. The national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate) appears in Devanagari script immediately below the emblem, with the large numeral '5' in the lower field. The country name 'भारत' (Bharat) is inscribed in Devanagari along the left periphery, while 'INDIA' and 'RUPEES' appear in Latin script along the right periphery.
