Pattern coins from the State Bank of Pakistan rarely surface in Western collections, and this aluminium trial for a 5 Rupee denomination never advanced to circulation — Pakistan ultimately retained a cupronickel composition for the issued series. Whether the aluminium format was rejected on durability grounds or simply lost in the procurement process is undocumented, but no regular-issue aluminium 5 Rupee coin appeared from this period. Surviving examples exist in very small numbers, almost certainly distributed informally rather than through any formal presentation set.
