| 裏面の説明 | Central device consisting of a bold numeral '5' surmounting the Urdu word 'روپیہ' (Rupee), both contained within a raised pentagonal frame. The pentagon is set against a plain field and surrounded by ornate floral and foliate arabesques at each corner and along the lower arc, lending a decorative character consistent with Pakistani numismatic design traditions. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded border. |

Pakistan's decimal coinage has seen numerous pattern submissions that never advanced to circulation, and this aluminium trial is one of them. The State Bank commissioned exploratory strikes in the early 2000s as part of an ongoing reassessment of the rupee's metal costs — copper-nickel issues had become expensive relative to face value, prompting trials in cheaper alloys. Aluminium was ultimately rejected for the 5-rupee denomination, which instead continued in bimetallic form.
