Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, centrally positioned in the upper field, depicted with three lions visible atop the abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra. Immediately below the emblem, the motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') is inscribed in Devanagari script. The large numeral '5' occupies the lower central field, flanked to the right by the legend 'RUPEES' in Latin script and to the left by 'रूपये' in Devanagari. The country name 'भारत' appears in Devanagari along the upper left legend and 'INDIA' in Latin along the upper right, with a decorative dotted border encircling the entire design.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a facing bust portrait of Sree Narayana Gurudev, the revered Kerala saint and social reformer, occupying the central field. The portrait shows the Guru in three-quarter view with characteristic draped attire and a serene expression. Surrounding the portrait, the circular legend reads 'JAGATH GURU SREE NARAYANA GURUDEV' in Latin script along the upper arc and 'जगत गुरु श्री नारायणा गुरुदेव' in Devanagari script along the left arc. Small decorative star ornaments appear at the base of the legend, and a dotted border frames the entire design at the rim.
