Obverse description Central device features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, depicted in relief with three lions visible atop an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra. Below the emblem, the national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') is inscribed in Devanagari script.
