Obverse description The obverse features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, depicted centrally with three lions visible atop an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra flanked by a bull and a horse in relief. Immediately below the capital, the national motto in Devanagari script reads 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate). The large numeral '5' occupies the lower field. The legend 'भारत' in Devanagari appears along the left rim and 'INDIA' in Latin script along the right rim, with '5 RUPEES' completing the denomination inscription along the right periphery.
